Pony care and management courses

Hands on courses for potential/new horse owners and others interested or needing a refresher on horse care and management.

Most courses enable you to practise on one of our ponies so you really understand exactly what is being taught.

All courses run by Amanda who has over 20 years experience of looking after her own horses/ponies. She has trained, bred and competed horses and ponies for virtually all of this time, has been through the 'buying my daughter a pony' issues and also holds the British Horse Society Stage 1 Certificate in Stable Management.

Our current portfolio of 1 1/2 hour courses includes
safety around ponies-great for kids and parents whether you own a pony or attend riding school
grooming and plaiting-what brushes to use when and where!
how to put tack and rugs on (including correct fitting)-vitally important for safety
how to catch and lead a pony safely-including what dangers to consider
care of your pasture-how and why
horse care in winter-how their care and management needs to change
horse care in spring-care and management plus preventing laminitis (can be extremely dangerous in spring)
horse care in summer-care and management during summer

Our courses are appropriate for ages 8 and over including adults.
Our courses are held outside/in the stables so please dress warmly in cooler months!

£17.50 per person, £32.50 for 2, £35 for 1 adult and 2 children, £47.50 for 3 adults.
