Poppy is a miniature Shetland pony and is just 36" tall. Poppy was bought to keep one of our horses company and was so gentle with the children that we let them sit on her from time to time. We gradually trained her and my daughter then had three years of fun on her before she grew too big for Poppy. All the 'little' people in our family have a sit on Poppy when they're visiting!

Poppy is very gentle, well mannered and used to small children. She is perfect for children from the age of two.


Demi was bought by

Cheshire Pony Parties

in 2007 to replace Poppy when my daughter grew too tall for her. He is eleven hands tall and is a Welsh Mountain Section A pony. He's a very easy going, friendly pony and like Poppy, is very steady to ride. He's best friends with ALL our horses and ponies and was a playmate for the foal that was born here until the foal was a very large 4 years old. Demi is really my daughter's pony and she enjoys practising her riding in our orchard and doing the odd dressage competition with him.


Jinny was bought in March 2010 and travelled all the way from Scotland, to help with all our pony activities! She is a sturdy, black Shetland mare, just a bit bigger than Poppy, but smaller than Demi. Jinny, like Poppy is very calm and quiet and is used to having lots of attention. She's a bit of a character and wants to be in on everything that's going on. Sometimes she tries to squeeze out of the gate when I'm getting one of the others out of the field! She has a mountain of mane-ideal for decorating!




Maisie is our most recent addition (Oct 2010). She is even smaller than Poppy, being only 29" to her shoulder. She's a miniature Shetland pony and is a very pale cream with lots of mane to feel and brush. She will partner with tiny children for riding and pampering and will also partner with older children (over 9s) for pampering.
Sweet is the only description required for Maisie. She's a very happy and friendly pony and VERY cute!
